Job brief
We are looking for a UI/UX Designer to turn our software into easy-to-use products for our clients.
UI/UX Designer responsibilities include gathering user requirements, designing graphic elements and building navigation components. To be successful in this role, you should have experience with design software and wireframe tools. If you also have a portfolio of professional design projects that includes work with web/mobile applications, we’d like to meet you.
Ultimately, you’ll create both functional and appealing features that address our clients’ needs and help us grow our customer base.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with and oversee the product team, including project managers, UX designers, UI designers and developers
- Perform UX research, including user interviews, card sorting, surveys or focus groups
- Conduct competitive analysis
- Understand business needs and ensure designs meet business objectives
- Understand user needs and apply user research to create user-friendly designs
- Work with the product team to iterate on product designs
- Interactive design: Designing the interactive properties of different UI elements. For example: creating animations and establishing what happens when a user clicks a certain button
- Create personas, journey maps, user flows and site maps
- Create sketches, wireframes and prototypes that direct the evolution of the product
- Guide the creation of the product’s visual language and style guides
- Lead or participate in design critiques and give constructive feedback
- Continue to test the product post-launch and make decisions about necessary improvements or additions
- Create pixel-perfect designs for all the screens that make up a product
- Create visual elements including typography, color palettes, buttons, icons, components, and logos, etc
- Handing designs off to developers using tools like Zeplin
Requirements and skills
- Knowledge of fundamental visual design principles, such as typography and color theory
- Knowledge and understanding of interaction design principles
- Knowledge and understanding of user experience (UX) design principles and processes
- The ability to create wireframes and prototypes
- Knowledge of industry tools
- Knowledge and understanding of information architecture
- Knowledge and understanding of responsive design
- Knowledge and understanding of how to design for inclusivity and accessibility
- Proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role
- Portfolio of design projects
- Knowledge of wireframe tools (e.g. Wireframe.cc and InVision)
- Up-to-date knowledge of design software like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Up-to-date knowledge of UI/UX design software like Figma and Adobe XD
- Team spirit; strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
- Good time-management skills
