Product Designer

Our Mission:

Our mission is to make legal services accessible. 70% of people and businesses can’t afford access to legal services today. Our software automates and centralizes legal work so that it can get completed 90% more efficiently.

We’re enabling lawyers to work better, while dramatically improving the legal experience for end legal clients. No more paper & word docs everywhere, no more forgetting important legal dates & obligations - we want a world where legal data can be easily recalled, utilized, and manipulated from anywhere.

Our software will not only make legal experiences more enjoyable, but also make them affordable and accessible. Today our focus is on automating legal work for SMBs, but our ultimate goal is to expand our technology to many areas of law, making all types of legal services more accessible.

We are currently a team of 13 and have just closed a $2.8m round of seed funding. We are ready to grow quickly and this Product Designer role is one of the first positions we are looking to fill.

Who you are:

You are extremely passionate about creating best-in-class user experiences. You are a team player who is able to bring your own expertise to the table while also being able to consider the thoughts and opinions of clients and other team members in the design process. You are eager to dive in and take ownership of the product design strategy, implementation, and execution. You are comfortable with the ambiguity inherent in working with a startup.

You have experience as a product designer and have tackled different aspects of the design process from start to finish. You know what it takes to bring a design from 90% to 100%. You believe in the importance of our mission to make legal services as accessible as possible.

What you'll do:

  • As the main product designer, you will collaborate with the development team and other departments to take high-level product ideas from inception through to execution. You will be responsible for upholding our 'design-first' product development culture.
  • Have ownership of Rally's design language and be responsible for building and maintaining our design system, ensuring visual cohesion and engineering efficiency across all user touch-points
  • Define product information architecture. Create wireframes and prototypes that illustrate key product interactions.
  • Apply strategic thinking to visualize ideas and concepts and communicate them effectively and compellingly for internal stakeholders, partners, and customers
  • Recommend new tools and technologies by staying up to date on the latest trends and techniques
  • Use both qualitative and quantitative data to identify and understand our users' needs.
  • Work closely with internal teams to define optimized user flows, and tweak pixels before launch.
  • Build positive, collaborative relationships with the Product Management, Development, and Marketing teams.
  • Continuously "raise the bar" as an effective leader of positive change
  • Monitor and improve the accessibility of Rally’s software
  • Run internal workshops, customer interviews, and user testing sessions to help guide, improve, and implement designs & improvements for products and processes
  • Help grow the team and develop the design culture within Rally

You should have:

  • The desire to constantly be learning
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively function remotely within a distributed team
  • 3+ years of proven experience in all phases of the design process for web applications including user research, copywriting, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, interaction design, and usability testing
  • Experience with UI design software such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A passion for tackling tough problems
  • A deep understanding of design systems and interaction patterns to ensure brand, visual, and interactive cohesion across the product.
  • The ability to push projects forward and make the necessary decisions to meet specified goals and timelines even in situations where you might have limited information or guidance
  • A desire to help in our continued efforts to strengthen our company culture as our team grows
