Now Hiring: Graphic Designer - Hybrid position

Watco is a growing transportation and supply chain services company looking for a Graphic Designer to help shape and evolve Watco’s visual brand, story and identity. We are looking for a talented, naturally curious and self- motivated designer who is always up for the next creative challenge and enjoys being collaborative and hands on.

Reporting to the Creative Director, the Graphic Designer will work closely and collaboratively across the organization to conceptualize, create and produce high-quality work that is relevant to the Watco brand. This a hybrid position with the ability to work at home, as well as in the Overland Park office with the marketing team.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops visual design and/or layout for print and digital needs
  • Ability to develop creative concepts, present them and refine based on feedback
  • Collaborate with marketing team and other teams across the organization to create and execute digital, print and video projects
  • Maintains brand guidelines and ensures brand standards are met
  • Strong customer service skills – must be able to communicate effectively and with project teams to plan, analyze, organize and execute assigned creative and design projects
  • Establish and maintain highly accurate file management process
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint – Assesses effectiveness of imagery and presentation needs
  • Keen attention to detail

Skills and Knowledge

  • Solid understanding of design and web best practices/guidelines
  • Experience with brand development and multichannel marketing
  • Able to storyboard, visualize and articulate concepts for others
  • Overachiever in design and creative production, comfortable enough to educate others on basic design concepts
  • Ability to toggle between tasks, work on several projects with various project owners at once, prioritize and get results
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.
  • Word Press experience
  • Animation experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years working in design and branding with a strong portfolio
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or similar field
  • Expert-level experience with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Creative vision and the know-how to achieve it
  • Obsessive when it comes to the details, balancing both a high-quality bar and speed of execution
  • Mix of agency and in-house experience desirable but not required
