Job Description

In your role as our Design System Designer, you'll join our team of digital education experts to revolutionize how the workforce learns today. You will help guide the strategic thinking of our Design Systems and be instrumental in evolving our current design systems and helping to lay the foundation of our new design language.

You will have the opportunity to help define processes and utilize the latest features in creating component libraries for design teams. This position will be focused specific to the mobile app design system.

Responsibilities

  • Guide strategic thinking of the Design System
  • Guide and contribute to road mapping the design systems process, its evolution, and goals with PMs
  • Shape the design system to scale through collaboration, feedback, and iteration
  • Capable of collaborating with partners across design, engineering, POs, etc
  • Help design the high-fidelity component library, well documented guidelines, and templates that communicate the design needs across any given product
  • Understand the needs of all Design System users
  • Able to govern DS request from different supported teams
  • Bring cohesive, creative vision to pitches and presentations with thoughtful storytelling
  • Manage and set expectations of internal and external stakeholders
  • Q/A the implementation of components from the development team

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience (including leading projects and being a hands-on designer)
  • Strong portfolio that demonstrates a depth of knowledge around design system thinking
  • Experience creating and maintaining Design Systems
  • Experience leading the strategic thinking of Design Systems
  • A product design mindset.
  • You are accustomed to creating designs that are informed by research and refined through user testing and prototyping
  • Stellar verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create and tell stories to internally supported teams
  • Ability to make and explain complex design decisions to experts and laypeople
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant industry tools including but not limited to Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Hands-on experience working with popular design system frameworks
  • Ability to accurately estimate and delegate work so that it is delivered on time
  • Experience designing on multiple platforms (Web, iOS, Android, etc)
  • Experience working remote
