Description

Kforce’s client, a Series C Fintech Unicorn headquartered in New York, NY, is seeking a North American Controller. This is a company that had 1 of the largest seed rounds in venture capital history. It is a disruptor and hyper growth company that hopes to IPO in the next 12-24 months. You will lead its North American team. This is a key moment where you will help build a great team, procedures, and policies and where you will also help build an enterprise which is IPO ready. This can be a remote role for someone who is an ideal skill fit. Having said that, a candidate that is open to company’s hybrid work schedule and commutable to their headquarters in New York, NY headquarters is the preferred profile here.

Duties will include:

  • Controller will direct and supervise North American Accounting team
  • Lead month end and year end closes
  • Prepare financial statements
  • Review your team’s account reconciliations, journal entries, schedules, journal entries and general ledger analysis
  • Build and improve processes for efficient closes
  • As a Controller, you will collaborate and lead on system implementations and improvements when necessary
  • Support audits
  • Drive IPO Readiness

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting a must; Advanced degree a plus
  • Over 6 years of experience
  • Over 2 years of managerial experience preferable in an Assistant Controller or a Controller role
  • CPA a plus
  • Public accounting foundation and experience a plus
  • Private accounting experience a plus
  • Experience with an SEC filer or an IPO process a plus
  • Experience with SOX controls and IPO readiness a plus
  • Interest in fintech space, cryptocurrency and blockchain all pluses
  • Experience in financial services, fintech, cryptocurrency, blockchain or lending businesses all strong pluses
